Hi, my name is Barb. I live in Sherwood Park. I've lived here for decades, long before the Neighbourhood Heroes existed, doing Edmonton yard care, but I found out about them a few years ago, and they are going to be our lawn service provider for a very long time. So, we had our lawn done and our monthly lawn maintenance, I think, was 2 or 3 years ago. Anyway, our lawn looked so good that our neighbours really noticed it and started asking me who does our lawn. So, of course, I told them. So, you know, a year later, there's like five of us in a row getting yard maintenance, I think, now and one on the other side of town and another one receives overseeding.

So, anyway, we definitely love their professionalism in lawn care. I believe they go over and above. They really do. If you don't believe that some of the weeds are gone, they will come back and do it again, for free, and they are very attentive and very spot-on with everything. My neighbour, who's 86, gets her lawn done now as well, and she told them last year, "Please don't go through the side fence." And they absolutely remembered. She was so excited that they didn't go tugging on that fence, and they went around to the other side...

So, Neighbourhood Heroes started in 2021 with three students. Then they added another guy, and now they have 10 people working with them. So, keep in mind that they started with one vehicle and now they have six. So last year, 2025, our lawn and the flowers I had here were obviously quite nice because we got nominated for Strathcona County in bloom for your front yard. And I do believe that 100% of it was because our grass was really green, lush, and thick. So we were nominated. So that's a big thing that's never happened, and said, "We've been here for two decades, so that's really good."

So, keep in mind that these guys and girls are all local university students. So, all 10 of them are in university who work with them. So, they do, yeah. They do deep-core aeration, power edging, and lawn mowing; they also do weed control and liquid fertilization. So, if you haven't booked your Edmonton lawn care for this year, I really would suggest that you give them a try.

So the other thing, their website is absolutely fabulous. There is so much information on their website and on their social media. Follow @TheNeighbourhoodHeroes on social media. They post almost daily with great information. I've been reading it, tagging, and sharing because I didn't know some of this stuff, and it's really, really interesting. And of course that's all free of charge.

Whenever we've had anyone from Neighbourhood Heroes knock on our door, they've been super polite. They come and do our grass. We don't even know they're there. They don't slam doors or anything; they just come and go. Unless, of course, I want to see them, which I do cuz I go out and I'll take pictures. But last year, I think our grass was the greenest that it's ever been. And we've been here for two decades. And seriously, they're quite particular about, you know, looking at everything and seeing if we're happy and everything. So, yeah, we're going to continue with them. And I hope more of our neighbours get involved, because our whole block will look very nice and green.
