Our Story

In 2021, amidst the uncertainty of a post-pandemic world, three young friends from Edmonton, Alberta – Nick, Cole, and Ransford ("Randy") – found themselves unemployed. As part-time workers, the impact of COVID-19 left them with looming bills, uncertain CERB payments, and the daunting prospect of the upcoming school year.  However, this adversity fueled their ingenuity.

Driven by friendship and a shared desire to make a difference, they turned to their community. With unwavering determination and youthful ambition, they started accepting odd jobs around the neighbourhood under "The Neighbourhood Heroes," adopting the slogan "Saving the community one family at a time." Their mission was simple but profound: prioritize helping the community.

No task was too small, no challenge too big. From lawn care to landscaping and various odd jobs, they tackled everything with unwavering commitment, even when they took on more than they could handle. They were resolute in their dedication to never disappoint their neighbours.

Over time, the young Heroes realized the need to focus their efforts on a lasting impact. They turned their attention to Edmonton's landscapes – the lawns and play spaces that characterize many neighbourhoods. Their mission evolved to care not just for lawns but for the people behind them.

They honed their skills, obtained necessary licenses, and immersed themselves in the art of weed control and liquid fertilization. They dedicated countless hours to researching eco-friendly practices, ensuring they could beautify the land while protecting it. This led to a new slogan: "The Grass is Greener on Your Side."

What began as three friends working from a garage blossomed into a values-driven business. The Neighbourhood Heroes transformed nearly 1,000 lawns in and around Edmonton in three years. They also created job opportunities for students like themselves, building a company and a legacy.

Today, The Neighbourhood Heroes embody resilience, innovation, and community spirit. Their team has expanded to include Rowland, a computer science student whose work ethic, compassion, and thirst for knowledge earned him a stake in the company – a tradition they hope to continue as they mentor the next generation.

With every lawn they nurture and every life they touch, The Neighbourhood Heroes remain true to their roots: beautifying neighbourhoods, supporting their community, and inspiring the young minds who will carry their torch forward.
